New Ground, LLC was started in 2004 by Jason Nowosad. After working as both an engineer and a high school math teacher, he sought to turn his love of building and passion for energy efficiency into a career in the hopes of being part of the solution to the impending energy and environmental crisis. Since then, New Ground, LLC has been building quality custom homes and additions with many energy saving and “green” features and are thankful to the many clients they have been lucky to serve in Eastern Connecticut.

New Ground LLC will build quality custom homes that have lower long term operating costs, increased durability, improved Indoor Air Quality, and less impact on the local and global environment.
Energy Saving Green Technology
Energy Savings is attained by striving to use the most efficient mechanical systems, framing techniques, insulation techniques and products, recycling, and any other method or product that becomes available in order to achieve these goals.
Lower Energy Costs
Lower long term operating costs and increased durability will save the customer money in the long run as well as help to ease the burden of energy and materials production on the environment.
Cleaner Indoor Air Quality
Improved indoor air quality creates a more comfortable and healthier home for all occupants now and in the future as well as prevents toxins from being dispersed into the atmosphere.
Eastern Connecticut’s Green Builder
It is the mission of this company to commit itself to these goals.
The New Ground Family
We consider staffing to be integral to what we do at New Ground and hope you will get the chance to know the whole crew during your project. We choose to sub-contract as little as possible for most of our projects so you shouldn’t be surprised to see someone from the New Ground team at your project on a daily basis. We generally complete much of the house ourselves including the foundation, framing, siding, roofing, insulation, painting,& most finish work. By maintaining direct control over so many aspects of the job we can control quality and price while offering our customers continuity on their project. Of course we can’t do everything in-house with our small crew. The extended New Ground family includes a short list of trusted and reliable trade partners who we rely on for excavating, plumbing, electrical, geothermal and solar installations, drywall, stairs, cabinetry, masonry, and landscaping as well as assistance with other aspects of the project as our scheduling dictates..
